The Distribution Co-Ordinator provides operational support in regard to export and import activities throughout the business. A multi-faceted role, the Distribution Co-ordinator is responsible for managing all freight movements to and from the OEMs and suppliers, supporting our regional bases operational requirements by ensuring parts are delivered on time, and providing guidance and support to the applicable end users across the region. Combined with this, it is also the Distribution Co-Ordinators role to adhere to the local import/export and tax regulations for each jurisdiction, including export control activities and local customs regulations. The position covers business entities including the UK, EU, Norway, Nigeria and the Falkland Islands and is diverse in the same way it is key to the success of the Supply Chain function.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Co-ordinate the entire logistic and transportation process to ensure smooth and cost effective, delivery of internal and external orders to the end user. Monitor all activities of the shipping process and provide updates to the end user.
- Liaise with Bristow’s freight suppliers to ensure that the most appropriate and cost-effective shipping method is used observing the cost benefit against the risk.
- Having a broad understanding in basic customs regimes including IP, Airworthiness & RGR and be the focal point of contact for all logistics & customs issues, tackling and resolving any disputes with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Be responsible for managing freight spend and continuously explore opportunities to reduce costs.
- Ensuring accurate data is recorded and updated at all times and in line with departmental, and regulatory procedures.
- Ensure that accurate information is provided to comply with all customs and licensing requirements.
- Be responsible for invoice approvals and managing queries.
- Must be prepared to work with the wider Supply Chain functions.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 Years previous experience in a Logistics role.
- Knowledge in UK Customs, indirect tax and dealing with HMRC and customs agents.
- Further experience in dealing with EU regulations will be a benefit.
- A broad understanding on the workings of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of SAP and/or another globally operated ERP system.
- Must demonstrate a can do attitude with a desire to learn and adapt in the role.
- Ideal for a self-starter who is self-motivated and can work under pressure.
