An established Suffolk organisation is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to play a leading role in the evolution of its enterprise IT environment.
This is a hands‑on senior technical position where you'll lead infrastructure projects, act as the highest technical escalation point, mentor engineers and help deliver a significant Azure cloud transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation and continual improvement of enterprise infrastructure.
- Deliver infrastructure and cloud migration projects.
- Act as the senior 3rd line technical escalation point.
- Own server, cloud, networking and identity platforms.
- Drive infrastructure security, resilience and disaster recovery.
- Develop automation using Power Shell.
- Mentor and support junior infrastructure engineers.
- Produce technical documentation and maintain operational standards.
- Work closely with third‑party suppliers and internal stakeholders.

- Microsoft Azure (Iaa S, networking, virtual machines and cloud services)
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Exchange Online and Hybrid Exchange
- Microsoft Intune (MDM & MAM)
- Microsoft Defender, MFA and Microsoft Security technologies
- Azure Site Recovery (ASR) and backup technologies
- Power Shell scripting and automation
- Meraki firewalls, switching and wireless
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and enterprise networking
- Ubuntu Linux administration
- ITIL-based service management environments
- Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
- Experience leading Azure migrations and infrastructure modernisation
- Strong experience of infrastructure security, disaster recovery and business continuity
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead technical projects
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills

- Azure certifications (AZ-104/AZ-305), ITIL Foundation and experience with Oracle environments or Arctic Wolf EDR.
