Bristow Holland is working with a growing business in the Ipswich area that is looking to add an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to its team. This is a varied, hands-on position combining 3rd Line infrastructure support, cloud infrastructure, networking, security and project work. You’ll be working across both cloud and traditional infrastructure environments, taking ownership of complex technical issues while also helping improve the reliability, security and resilience of the wider IT estate. It would suit someone currently working as an Infrastructure Engineer, 3rd Line Engineer, Systems Engineer or similar who enjoys getting involved across a broad range of technologies rather than being restricted to one particular area.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and supporting Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure
- Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID / Azure AD and Group Policy
- Acting as an escalation point for complex 2nd and 3rd Line infrastructure issues
- Troubleshooting technical incidents and carrying out root cause analysis
- Supporting and maintaining virtualised environments, storage and backup technologies
- Managing and troubleshooting networking, DNS, routing, VPNs and firewalls
- Supporting infrastructure security, including endpoint protection, access controls, MFA and email security
- Monitoring infrastructure performance, availability and capacity
- Supporting cloud and infrastructure migrations
- Managing patching, software deployment and system updates
- Supporting internal users and resolving infrastructure-related technical issues
- Contributing to infrastructure projects and the implementation of new technologies
- Maintaining technical documentation, runbooks and recovery procedures
- Identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, security and efficiency
Key Skills:
We’re looking for someone with good all-round infrastructure experience rather than somebody who necessarily ticks every box. Ideally, you’ll have experience across a mixture of:

- Windows Server
- Active Directory / Entra ID
