The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

We invite applications for the position of UKSAR UAS Operator based at our Search and Rescue facility at Lydd Airport in Kent. Reporting to the UAS Base Manager, you will have responsibility for delivering UAS tasking requirements whilst displaying the highest safety and flying standards.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operation of the Schiebel S-100 Camcopter UAS.
  • Exercising authority for safe flight and delivery of UAS operations received from the tasking authority.
  • Operation of UAS sensor suites, payloads, and communication systems.
  • Interaction with ANSP’s and other air users to ensure safe UAS operation.
  • Ensure all flights are conducted within The Company’s UAS Operational Authorisation.
  • Recording of all flight and aircraft state data on company fleet management software (iSAR).
  • Management of individual Crew duty, Flight Time Limitations, and adherence to company rest period requirements.
  • Management of individual currency and training requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company Safety Management System, including regular attendance of Flight Safety Committees, Safety Action groups and Health and Safety Committees to promote the highest standards in the workplace as required by the UAS Base Manager.
  • Active participation in the company safety management system. Reporting of events through the BeSAFE system such as GORs, MSRs and ASRs.
  • Support Health & Safety in the workplace and the appearance of aircraft, hangars and working areas.
  • Support the UKSAR UAS Engineers to attain and maintain the highest possible standards in the execution of their responsibilities.
  • Ensure vigilance in respect of UKSAR base security arrangements.
  • Other duties as directed by the UKSAR UAS Base Manager.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • As a minimum, candidates must have passed the Theoretical Knowledge Examinations for CAA PPL. Alternative foreign nation pilot licences may be considered acceptable.
  • FRTOL.
  • Current right to live and work in the UK.
  • Successful candidates will be required to hold an appropriate level of UK Government security vetting.
  • Strong IT skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as a minimum.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Effective team player.
  • Adaptable and flexible.

Highly Desirable

  • PPL.
  • Previous BVLOS UAS Operation in complex environments.
  • ISR experience (EO/IR)
  • UK UAS Regulation Knowledge
