Main Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and logistic support for the Head of Department and staff in the FCS dept, and for HE students based on site, including but not limited to: taking meeting minutes and booking meetings, managing access cards , IT and student printing accounts, inventories and managing of field conservation equipment, proof reading documents, etc.
Be the front of house representative of the FCS team and ensure smooth operation by supporting staff/external users, coordinating room bookings, supporting events, providing administrative support to teams and facilitating building management.
Effectively manage the library of Bristol Zoological Society for students, staff, volunteers and researchers.
Guide and input into the design of the learning and resources spaces of the new HE facilities at Bristol Zoo Project.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly-organised individual to join our team and become the administrative centre for our busy community. You should have experience of administrative processes, managing multi-faceted projects, or working in a library, an understanding of library processes and procedures, strong interpersonal skills with an interest in working closely with HE students, and excellent writing and communication skills. Knowledge and passion of animals, conservation, and higher education teaching would be an asset. A desire to input into designs for our new library and learning spaces at the future HE facilities at the Bristol Zoo Project is sought. Your role will be crucial in helping us complete our mission of Saving Wildlife Together, and delivering impactful and outstanding Higher Education programmes. This role is initially based at across two sites, in the Conservation Education Centre at Bristol Zoo Gardens, and Bristol Zoo Project. However, within three months (dependent on start date), it is expected to be based fully at Bristol Zoo Project.
