This role is a practical, hands-on fisheries position where no two days are the same. You will:
- Support the day-to-day operation of a premier UK fishery
- Prepare, clean and maintain fishing boats and angling equipment
- Work at our fish farm, helping rear and care for fish stock
- Welcome anglers, check tickets and share local fishing knowledge
- Monitor fish welfare, water conditions and site safety
- Maintain banks, jetties, car parks and access points
- Look after our Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), helping protect sensitive habitats while keeping fishing and recreation running smoothly
- Engage positively with members of the public, from regular anglers to first-time visitors
- Take responsibility for site safety and visitor satisfaction, ensuring everyone enjoys the lakes safely and responsibly
- Act as a visible, knowledgeable presence on the water - approachable, professional and firm when needed
We are looking for anglers who want to turn their passion into a season of meaningful work. You will be a great fit if you:
- Have a genuine passion for trout, predator and reservoir fishing
- Enjoy engaging with anglers and providing great customer service
- Are practical, reliable and happy with physically demanding outdoor work
- Are comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Can work confidently both alone and as part of a team
- Are approachable and professional, but firm when needed
- Take responsibility for public safety, fish welfare and our assets
- Are proactive, observant and able to use your initiative
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Good level of physical fitness
- Formal Fisheries qualifications aren’t essential - real world angling knowledge and the right attitude matter more.
