We currently have an opportunity for Stores Person/Driver to join our team based in Plymouth. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £27,000 - £28,000 per annum plus excellent benefits. The role is based from our Crownhill Depot in Plymouth.
About the role:
As a Store Person / Driver you will be multi‑skilled across two key disciplines in the Logistics operation. You will be based at our Central Logistics Centre at Crownhill depot in Plymouth and will undertake a wide range of activities in the Warehouse including dealing with internal customer queries and collections, taking receipt of supplier deliveries as well as identifying/picking stock for dispatch. You will also be responsible for carrying out routine and emergency deliveries to our sites ensuring that consignments are delivered within departmental SLA’s and ensuring that satellite stores and drop‑off locations are maintained and stocked in line with the customer requirements. You will also be expected to support emergency out‑of‑hours requirements through participation in a 1‑week‑in‑4 standby rotation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Safe transportation and delivery of materials to SWW sites in Devon, Cornwall and Bournemouth.
- Taking ownership of stock management and general housekeeping at all stores locations.
- Manage the loading and offloading of deliveries in a safe manner and ensuring security and integrity of loads whilst in transit.
- Conduct periodic stock audits and sending reports of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
- Checking goods received from suppliers are accounted for and processing of the Goods Received Notes (GRN) onto the system.
- Preparation and input of all documentation relating to receiving and issuing stock.
- Processing of returned materials to suppliers or for restocking.
- Picking and packing of stock for delivery or collection.
- General maintenance of the South West Water stock catalogue and Mobile Stores Application including recommending changes to the stocking replenishment levels for products.
- Ensuring all stores locations conform to Health & Safety standards and the timely reporting of issues.
- Manage telephone calls and queries from internal customers and suppliers.
- Monitor and process customer requests received into the Stores Mailbox.
- Timely chasing of overdue orders from suppliers.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding delivery discrepancies/damages.
- Provision of emergency call‑out cover as required through a standby rota.
- Support ad‑hoc projects and improvement initiatives as required.
