We’re looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead the successful design and delivery of a multi million pound capital investment programme of multi discipline projects. Working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners and a team of Project Managers, you’ll ensure projects are governed, commercially controlled, and delivered to the highest standards of safety and quality. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen and hands‑on experience managing programmes under NEC contracts.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead delivery of a multi million pound capital programme, ensuring strong governance, planning, and execution.
- Maintain full commercial control, ensuring all projects align with NEC contract frameworks and protect the business from risk and loss.
- Ensure works are only initiated in line with approved budgets and Board‑sanctioned governance.
- Present monthly programme forecasts, proactively managing risks, changes, and budget variances.
- Lead audits across Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance, driving continuous improvement.
- Oversee engineering solutions to ensure compliance with standards and protection of water quality and public health.
- Manage programme risks through a robust risk register, ensuring no surprises to senior stakeholders.
- Lead, develop, and support high‑performing teams through clear objectives, regular reviews, and development plans.
Essential requirements:
- Strong NEC contract experience (NEC3/NEC4)
- Client‑side or asset owner experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable requirements:
- Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., water, utilities, infrastructure)
- Knowledge of AMP cycles / regulatory frameworks (if applicable)
- Programme controls experience (e.g., cost forecasting, Primavera P6, earned value)
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Professional accreditation (e.g., Chartered Engineer, APM, or equivalent)
