SALARY: £26,208 base + 20% uplift = £27,846 per annum

HOURS: 40 per week, Monday – Friday 14:00 – 22:30

Purpose Of The Role

To actively participate in all operations involving the receipt, separation for recycling via a conveyor sort line, disposal and reuse of waste, comply with all health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control the receipt and segregation for recycling of waste received.
  • Carry out general site duties including housekeeping of site grounds, buildings and staff facilities, maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
  • If trained to drive wheeled loading shovel and other mobile plant, carry out inspections and report defects of mobile plant, vehicles and other equipment.
  • Operate weighbridge when trained and required.
  • Actively participate in full range of recycling and reuse activities/initiatives.
  • Undertake baler duties if trained when required. (training will be provided)

Essential Requirements For The Role

  • Experience of sorting material, skills in responding to operational issues.
  • Willingness to work flexibly and adapt to changing roles to meet operational requirements.
  • Proven experience of effective contribution to team working.
  • Ability to operate computerised weighbridge (training will be provided).
  • Demonstrable experience of ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrable understanding of health and safety and other associated relevant legislation.
  • Experience or ability to demonstrate suitability for physical work involving the lifting of weights up to 25 kg and manual handling to include pushing/pulling waste bins.
  • Ability to drive/operate a range of mobile plant, equipment and vehicles.
