Purpose Of The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our team for a 9-month period starting in May 2025. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the waste sector, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of the industry's legal rules and guidelines. This role reports directly to the Managing Director and you will also be a member of the Executive Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily waste, recycling and cleaning operations and ensure efficient workflow
- Implement strategic initiatives to improve operational performance
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and guidelines
- Lead and mentor the operations team in the delivery of the business plan
- Line management responsibility for two Deputy Operations Directors
Essential Requirements For The Role
- Waste Industry experience at a senior level within a large multi-disciplinary environment, Teckal or Local Authority organisation, or equivalent experience
- Strong ability to build and nurture effective partnerships, manage stakeholder relationships, and influence others to achieve business objectives
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic approaches across multiple teams and functions to deliver high performing services
- Evidence that leadership and delivery style align with BWC’s values, with high levels of personal integrity
Flexible Working: We work flexibly, but visibility in this role is important as your teams work across our sites. To really get under the skin of our business, you need to be out and about. You are likely to be on site four days per week.
