Location: Albert Road, Bristol

Salary: £39,226.50 per annum FTE (Actual Salary £31,381.20 per annum)

Hours: 30 hours per week over 4 days (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday essential; 4th day can be either Monday or Friday)

NB: This role is Part Time, working 30 hours per week over 4 days. It is a Fixed Term Contract due to end March 2027. The role may involve some occasional evening and weekend work and work at different locations across Bristol.

The Role

Delivering focused communications and marketing for partnership projects with Bristol City Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on the planning and delivery of communications and marketing campaigns that support partnership projects as agreed with Bristol Waste Company and Bristol City Council that focus on:
    • Sustainability and environmental impacts;
    • Improved street scene;
    • Supporting the Bristol City Council Waste Client and Housing Team to deliver against political and organisational objectives.
  • Create and curate content for the website and intranet, including rich media, and support presence on, and tactical use of, social media.
  • Create engaging video content that supports Bristol Waste Company and Bristol City Council marketing campaigns.
  • Develop marketing or promotional assets and materials, such as posters or digital content, and award applications.
  • Assist in the management of the use and development of the brand.
  • Build and manage strong and effective internal relationships across Bristol Waste Company and Bristol City Council.
  • Represent and promote Bristol Waste and the Council with a range of external stakeholders including volunteer groups, and support presence at community/business volunteering focused events.
  • Adopt safe working practices, maintaining a safe working environment; comply with Bristol Waste Codes of Conduct, Regulations and Policies; and work in line with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and contribute to this process of improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills, with strong attention to detail and a proactive, creative approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a positive attitude and confidence working outdoors when required.
  • Knowledge of planning and delivering effective marketing and communications campaigns, including digital, social media and print content.
  • Confident using ICT systems, including Microsoft Office, and familiar with social media platforms and management tools.
  • Experience working in a marketing or communications environment, with the ability to manage deadlines and priorities effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence required; Desirable skills include design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe), website management (WordPress), event coordination and an interest in environmental issues.
