The Role
To protect, grow and enhance the organisation’s most valuable customer relationships. Responsible for managing a portfolio of the top 10–15 key accounts, the Account Manager ensures exceptional service delivery, high retention, and long‑term partnership development. The role drives commercial performance through proactive account planning, relationship management, and targeted upsell/cross‑sell activity. In addition, they will lead commercial engagement with the Council, the shareholder, identifying revenue opportunities and supporting strategic alignment with Council priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of 10–15 key accounts, driving retention and revenue growth.
- Identify and convert upsell and cross‑sell opportunities through proactive account planning.
- Lead commercial engagement with the Council to expand services and strengthen partnerships.
- Build strong customer relationships through regular meetings and reviews.
- Work cross‑functionally to ensure excellent service delivery and issue resolution.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills, with a commercial, customer‑focused mindset.
- Proven ability to identify growth opportunities, deliver retention targets, and drive account revenue.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing key or strategic accounts in a B2B environment, influencing senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of account management best practice, CRM systems, and cross‑functional working.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
