With over 100 highly skilled professionals, the team at Bristol Vet Specialists is led by internationally renowned specialist veterinary surgeons, supported by residents, interns and registered veterinary nurses. With Specialists in all disciplines able to treat patients under one roof, our staff are able to provide the highest quality of care to small animals in the South West and Wales. We are now looking to expand the team by recruiting a dedicated dispensary colleague. Ideally, the person we’re looking for will already be an RVN or PCA with SQP looking for a new challenge. We are happy to be flexible regarding hours and shift pattern, but our preference would be for a 4 day week.
The Role: You will ensure the smooth operation of our veterinary pharmacy, including:
- Responsibility for stock control and managing the dispensary area
- Keeping up to date with dedicated and preferred products
- Ordering and maintaining medication stock and practice supplies
- Working alongside the Vets to ensure prescription validity, clinical accuracy and compliance with VMD regulations
- Dispensing, clarifying any prescription anomalies or queries
- Working with the practice team ensuring that customers’ prescriptions are processed in a timely manner
Key Skills:
- Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse or PCA with proven experience in veterinary practice or dispensing pharmacy
- A record of continual professional development to date
- Well organised, with great attention to detail
- Computing skills
- Good customer service skills
- SQP Qualification preferred, although training will be given to achieve this
