We're excited to announce that Bristol Vet Specialists is looking for an Ophthalmology Specialist to join our growing team. The position is flexible to suit a full or part‑time role (3 or 4 days a week considered). While the ideal candidate would hold a diploma in veterinary ophthalmology (Dip ECVO / ACVO) and have experience in training ophthalmology residents, applications from ECVO board‑eligible candidates will also be considered.
The successful candidate will be working alongside our experienced and enthusiastic ophthalmology team, which is currently formed by three senior ophthalmologists (two DipECVO and one SAVC RSVO), a 3rd year ECVO resident and two discipline‑specific Registered Vet Nurses. Rotating interns regularly join our service, offering further support and assistance and the service also attracts significant demand from external visitors.
The Ophthalmology service benefits from its own dedicated consultation room and allocated theatre and offers comprehensive eye care ranging from adnexal procedures to advanced intraocular surgery. We are strongly committed to our relationships with the referring primary‑care practices we work with, providing a satellite ophthalmology service at two additional centres on a monthly basis.
