The role:
- Be a positive driver of innovation and excellence within our Anaesthesia department, supporting the growth and development of our Residents, Interns, and nursing teams.
- Collaborate across departments, supporting advanced interventional procedures, including our latest Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (TEER), atrial decompression and cardiac interventions.
- Provide expert advice support to team caseloads and advice to our First Opinion, sister Referral centres, and have the option to perform anaesthesia at a dedicated local equine hospital.
What we need:
- Residency trained anaesthesia as a minimum, Diplomate status preferred.
- Highly collaborative personality with interest in coaching and mentoring.
- Clinical improvement advocate willing to critique and drive improvements to patient safety, clinical outcomes or internal efficiency.

BVS is a large specialist‑led, referral‑only hospital located in Bristol. We offer the full complement of specialist veterinary referral services including Cardiology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency and Critical Care, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery. Our state‑of‑the‑art purpose‑built hospital has MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, radiotherapy unit (with a linear accelerator), 5 theatres, canine and feline ICUs and an incredible team of referral nurses and support staff.
