Assist Trustees of Southern Africa Resource Centre Ongoing/One Off Ongoing Minimum Commitment Twice a month Location BS8
Project Aim: To increase the capacity of Bristol Link with Beira to raise its profile in Bristol and to support projects that are making real difference to the lives of people in Bristol’s twin city Beira, Mozambique.
Volunteer Capacity: The volunteer should be able to create clear compelling written content, have basic graphic skills, and basic IT skills. The volunteer should have an interest in international issues and/or climate change and/or social justice. Portuguese language skills are an advantage but not essential. Max. 2 hours per fortnight remote working initially.
Volunteer Tasks: The volunteers will be encouraged to pursue their own interests, encompassing any of the following:
- Preparing project proposals
- Preparing content for social media, newsletter, and website
- Taking part in presentations and events (Portuguese-English translation)
- Increasing knowledge about issues in a sub-Saharan Least Developed Country
- Interacting with organisations and individuals outside the university and academia
- Attending BLB Working Group and/or Trustee meetings
- Improving social and management skills
