Make a difference in a child’s life one story at a time. Home 2 School Link (Bristol) CIC is driven by a clear and vital mission: connecting home and school to create an inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Our aim is to foster strong relationships and a shared sense of community among families and schools.
One way we do this is through our Reading Clubs in Easton and Barton Hill. These clubs support primary school children from low-income families, whose parents don’t speak English or can’t read with them at home.
We are now looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us in making a real difference. By giving just a little of your time, you can help children:
- Develop their reading skills
- Grow in confidence
- Discover the fun and excitement of books
What we’re asking for:
We simply ask volunteers to commit to attending one Reading Club session per week during term time (though you’re very welcome to do more if you wish). Sessions run on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, and all volunteers will need to complete a DBS check, which we’ll arrange.
Why volunteer? This is a chance not only to make a real impact in the community and inspire a love of reading, but also to develop your own skills, such as communication, teamwork, and confidence, while also gaining valuable experience working with children in a supportive environment.
