Join Our SU Shop & Enterprise Team – Part-Time Opportunity for University of Bristol Students


We’re looking for a friendly, proactive student to join our team as Retail Assistant in the SU Shop at The Richmond Building. Working closely with the Merch team, you’ll help deliver great customer service, support day-to-day shop operations, assist with merchandising and online orders, and get involved in key campus events like Graduation and Welcome Week.


This is a great opportunity to build experience in a fun, fast-paced retail environment while working with a supportive team. Retail or customer service experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided.
This role also offers the exciting opportunity to gain experience across other Students’ Union enterprise teams, including lettings and more, giving you a broader insight into SU services and valuable skills for your future.

What’s the job?
Role: Retail & Enterprise Assistant
Hours: Various (typically between 9am- 5pm weekdays with some occasional weekends/evenings to cover events), zero-hours contract
Salary: £12.60 OR £13.10 Supervisor rate per hour plus holiday pay
Contract: Fixed term until Summer 26
Closing date: 5th August 25

• You may have some experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality, or simply a strong interest in helping people and creating a positive shopping experience.
• You’re confident speaking with customers, enjoy working as part of a team, and can stay positive and focused during busy periods.
• You’re comfortable handling transactions, answering customer questions, and helping to keep the shop clean, tidy, and well-stocked.
• You’re a good communicator, quick to pick things up, and able to manage different tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
