Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday with flexible start and finish times

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to support the delivery of high-quality sport and education sessions across local schools and community settings. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about community sport, coaching, SEND provision and providing positive experiences of sport to a wide range of young people.

Your Role

As a Community Sport Project Officer, you will plan and deliver high quality sport & education sessions across a range of projects within local schools and community settings. The role provides flexible support across multiple programmes, contributing to activities such as school PE delivery, SEND & Inclusion, Community Engagement Sessions and Player Development Camps. The role will play a key part in promoting positive experiences of sport & education, supporting participant development and representing the organisation in local communities.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver high quality sport and education sessions that are tailored to the needs of groups and individuals.
  • Build positive, constructive relationships with young people, schools, and community participants.
  • Create a safe, accessible and inclusive environment that supports enjoyment, participation and whole person development.
  • Support the delivery of programmes within both education, inclusion, and community settings, representing the Foundation with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Ensure all equipment is set up, maintained and stored safely for every session.

This role is ideal for someone who loves engaging with people from all backgrounds, thrives in varied environments, and is motivated by creating meaningful impact in their community.

What You’ll Bring

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Even if you’re at the start of your coaching journey and don’t meet every requirement, if you’re excited about the role, we’d love to hear from you.

  • England Rugby Coaching Award (ERCA) or RFU Level 1 or Level 2 Coaching Award, or an equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • A strong understanding of disability and SEN learners and how to coach sport in an appropriate manner.
  • Have experience of delivering school sport provision across multiple sports.
  • Hold a minimum Level 1 National Governing Body coaching qualification or a formal teaching qualification.
  • Experience of coaching or teaching in either a paid or voluntary capacity, within education or community settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to build successful relationships with participants, parents, and coaches.
  • Strong understanding of rugby, including core skills, game principles and key elements of team development in sport.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, in line with the requirements of the role.
  • IT literate, with the ability to use basic digital tools and systems effectively.
  • Access to own vehicle and a full, valid UK driving license.
