Working with Us
Challenging. Meaningful. Life-changing. Those aren’t words that are usually associated with a job. But working at Bristol Myers Squibb is anything but usual. Here, uniquely interesting work happens every day, in every department. From optimizing a production line to the latest breakthroughs in cell therapy, this is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it. You’ll get the chance to grow and thrive through opportunities uncommon in scale and scope, alongside high-achieving teams.
Bristol Myers Squibb recognizes the importance of balance and flexibility in our work environment. We offer a wide variety of competitive benefits, services and programs that provide our employees with the resources to pursue their goals, both at work and in their personal lives.
At Bristol Myers Squibb, we don't just develop products, we build the science that gets life-changing medicines into the hands of patients who need them most. Our Drug Product Development (DPD) team sits at the very heart of that mission. This is a team that combines world-class CMC expertise across small molecules, protein biotherapeutics, and next-generation modalities like protein degraders — and pairs it with genuine collaboration across R&D and Commercial. What that means for you? You'll never be working in a silo. You'll be part of a connected, idea-rich environment where your work has a clear, traceable line to patient outcomes.
And the scale of opportunity here? It's genuinely rare. The problems are complex, the pipeline is broad, and the people around you will push you to be better.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Scientist or Senior Scientist in Exploratory Biopharmaceutics, you'll be working at the critical intersection of modelling, pharmacokinetics, and drug product strategy, helping determine whether a promising molecule can actually become a safe, effective therapy for patients. Early-stage development is where the big decisions get made. Your modelling and simulation work will directly shape how a molecule progresses through clinical stages, how it's presented to regulators and ultimately, how it reaches patients. This isn't a support role, it's a science leadership role.
- Build and refine pharmacokinetic models that identify the biopharmaceutics performance attributes that make or break a molecule's clinical success; your insights will guide critical go/no-go decisions.
- Develop integrated biopharmaceutics modelling and simulation packages that underpin regulatory submissions and dossiers; your work will be the scientific backbone of how BMS communicates with health authorities.
- Shape biopharmaceutics strategies for active clinical and nonclinical studies, translating complex science into practical exposure targets that improve outcomes for real patients.
- Lead your own development projects with genuine autonomy; you won't be waiting for direction, you'll be setting it.
- Collaborate directly with Discovery, Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory, and Toxicology teams; this is a role that earns you a seat at the table across the full drug development lifecycle.
- Work across therapeutic areas, giving you breadth of experience that accelerates your career in ways a narrower role simply couldn't.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who's technically sharp, intellectually curious, and genuinely energised by the pace of early-stage pharmaceutical development. You'll be a great fit if you have:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline (Pharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, DMPK, or related field) combined with meaningful industry or research experience.
- Hands-on modelling expertise, PBPK, popPK, PK-PD, QSP — you know these tools and you know how to make them tell a useful story.
- A solid grounding in ADME, PK, and drug substance/drug product manufacturing processes - enough to speak credibly across functions.
- A track record of publications and presentations that demonstrates you're engaged with where the field is going, not just where it's been.
- The kind of communication skills that translate complex science into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional partners — from bench scientists to regulatory reviewers.
- An entrepreneurial mindset - you're comfortable with ambiguity, energised by change, and you bring solutions, not just problems.
What You'll Get Out of It
Beyond the science itself, this role offers something harder to find: genuine career acceleration. The cross-functional exposure, the scope of the pipeline, and the seniority of the problems you'll be solving means you'll grow faster here than in most comparable positions in the industry. You'll build a professional network that spans discovery through commercialization. You'll develop regulatory fluency that opens doors. And you'll do it all in a culture that genuinely values innovation — where new ideas aren't just welcomed, they're expected.
If you want work that's challenging, visible, and meaningfully connected to patients, this is the role for you!
If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway. You could be one step away from work that will transform your life and career.
Uniquely Interesting Work, Life-changing Careers
With a single vision as inspiring as “Transforming patients’ lives through science™”, every BMS employee plays an integral role in work that goes far beyond ordinary.
