Role Overview

As a Medical Science Liaison covering the North of the UK, you will be at the heart of that mission — acting as a trusted scientific partner to the cardiovascular healthcare community and ensuring patients gain timely access to life‑changing therapies.

Territory

North West, North East, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The role requires 60–70 % field time; you must be based in or willing to work across the territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain peer‑to‑peer relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) across the cardiovascular landscape in the North of the UK.
  • Engage TLs and HCPs with balanced, accurate, and compelling scientific dialogue on cardiovascular disease management, BMS products, and HEOR data.
  • Respond confidently to complex clinical and scientific questions across multiple channels—from 1:1 meetings to group presentations (in‑person and remote).
  • Stay ahead of the curve by continuously updating your knowledge of cardiovascular treatment strategies, competitive landscapes, and unmet medical needs.
  • Develop your own Territory Field Medical Plan for the North of the UK, aligned with cardiovascular therapeutic area objectives.
  • Contribute to cross‑functional institution/account planning.
  • Feed meaningful medical insights back to internal teams to inform strategy.
  • Provide scientific training and updates to commercial, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and market access colleagues.
  • Support promotional meetings with unbiased, data‑driven scientific presentations.
  • Support interventional and non‑interventional research studies—from site identification to patient recruitment support.
  • Advise on study feasibilities based on real‑world field intelligence across the North of the UK.
  • Assist HCPs with Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) submissions.
  • Ensure pharmacovigilance standards are understood and upheld at local study sites.

Qualifications

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD — OR a Science degree with relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Experience as a clinician or MSL preferred, ideally with a background in cardiovascular medicine.

  • Strong relationship‑builder with the ability to earn the trust of senior scientific and clinical stakeholders.

  • A rapid learner who thrives when diving into new therapeutic areas.
  • Based in or willing to work across the North of the UK, with comfort for regular travel and field‑based working (60–70 %+ of your time will be in the field).
  • Proficient with basic IT tools and platforms.
