Position Summary
The Worldwide Medical Immunology & Neuroscience (I&N) Market Lead is a critical leadership role ensuring and enhancing collaboration and partnership between WW Medical I&N and our countries/regions across the globe. The Market Lead is both a liaison and a catalyst working with WW and the markets to drive alignment with a cohesive focus to deliver globally on our asset, disease, and medical strategies and objectives. The incumbent will leverage capabilities and expertise to drive business objectives, resolve business matters, and optimize opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the WW Medical Immunology & Neuroscience Market Lead in understanding country & region launch needs based on market dynamics.
- Distill key risks and opportunities and escalate them to the WW Medical Launch Readiness Forum and Global Launch Office.
- Partner with WW business partners, WW Medical, and markets to ensure strategic alignment and delivery of Asset, Disease, and Medical strategies and objectives.
- Provide visibility to country and regional leadership on market needs and insights, including how these inform WW Medical Strategies & Evidence Generation plans.
- Ensure global considerations and bi-directional communications between WW and markets through appropriate communication forums and channels (e.g. global meetings, email, trainings, dashboards etc.).
- Develop dashboards for deliverables and communicate appropriately on a regular basis in partnership with Major Markets Strat & Ops Lead.
- Provide high-level strategic expertise and connect local teams with the WW Medical team to ensure prompt and tailored support.
- Interpret WW portfolio outputs for the markets to ensure appropriate understanding of context to drive effective local execution.
- Escalate WW and local launch or execution issues and risks to Medical Leaderships, and facilitate resolution and/or mitigation, as appropriate.
- Proactively identify and remove markets’ roadblocks by triaging the communication between WW functions and local medical teams.
- Foster both informal and formal cross-functional and geographical collaboration and a sense of belonging.
- Promote a culture of inclusiveness, innovation, constructive challenge, and accountability within I&N Markets.
- Partner effectively with cross-functional partners such as the Market Medical, Commercial Strat & Ops leads, Field Medical Excellence, and the WW Commercialization leads to develop and maintain a seamless regional/WW interface.
- Partner WWM I&N S&O to manage team budgets, in collaboration with project managers, finance partners, and medical team to ensure thoughtful execution and flag risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- BS/BA degree or equivalent; MBA or advanced degree preferred (e.g., Pharm D, PhD).
- 7-10+ years of relevant biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Broad knowledge of immunology & neuroscience preferred.
- Global experience working with and understanding of regional and local market environments.
- Experience in program and project management; experience defining key deliverables, tracking to milestones and budget, and informing business tradeoffs to deliver strategies and objectives.
- Ability to influence across matrix, emotional intelligence, curiosity, and skills in proactively identifying, building and maintaining key relationships across the enterprise.
- Ability to work independently in a fast moving and increasingly complex environment with limited direction is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategically, driving performance, and communicating with impact across complex matrix environment.
