Overview

Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Chemical Process Operator / Electroplating Assistant for a company based in Tarvin.

Candidates with STEM or engineering backgrounds are suitable.

The client is expanding and looking for adaptable individuals who are keen to progress.

Working hours

Normal hours are 30 hours per week over 5 days, starting at 8:00am. There is flexibility for candidates with the right skill set who can work 4 days or have other commitments.

  • Weekend duties are required when trained.

Fully trained staff work one weekend in 4 (approximately 2-5 hours on Sat and Sun mornings) with very occasional Bank Holidays.

Weekend and Bank Holiday overtime rates apply.

Pay Rate

£13.50 per hour / Starting rate.

Additional Pay

A discretionary production bonus scheme is available after completing 3 months of work.

  • Electroplating Assistant Duties
  • Unpacking components, inspection, jigging and masking in preparation for plating.
  • Unjigging and cleaning plated components. Sorting and putting away masks.
  • Maintaining additives on electroplating tanks. Changing filters.
  • Any tasks where assistance may be required by electroplating technicians.
  • Machining finished parts and final inspection.
  • Cleaning equipment.
  • Keeping the workplace environment clean and tidy.
  • Longer-term Duties
  • Daily plating tank checks, maintaining equipment, loading and unloading the plating tanks.
  • Maintaining/preparing the tanks between batches.
  • p H measurement and chemical analysis, making up and maintaining plating solutions.
  • Production team size is small; we are looking for someone who will fit in.
  • No previous experience is necessary, but an interest in engineering, chemistry or sciences; mechanical maintenance is desirable.
  • Location and Transport

Please note that due to the semi-rural location, public transport isn’t always reliable, especially on weekends. Your own transport is preferable.
