We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join their Engineering team in Doncaster. Whether your background is mechanically or electrically biased, you'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

- Rotating 3-shift pattern: Monday - Thursday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am; Friday: 6am-12pm / 12pm-6pm / 6pm-12am

The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding quickly to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement projects.
Key responsibilities
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Maintaining conveyors, elevators, palletisers, packaging equipment and other production machinery.
- Installing, servicing and modifying mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
- Working closely with Production teams to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Completing maintenance records and ensuring all work complies with health, safety and quality standards.
About you
We're looking for candidates with:
- A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification (BTEC, ONC or equivalent).
- Experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced production environment.
- Experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, conveyors, packaging machinery or automated production equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
