We are currently recruiting for an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer (60:40 split) to join a well established and thriving food manufacturing company based in Eccles. This is a permanent role offering a salary of £50-52k per annum, and the opportunity to work your 40 hours per week to suit you Monday to Friday!

Key Responsibilities as Maintenance Engineer:

  • Support and mentor the current engineering team, ensuring all machinery is well-maintained and production-ready.
  • Assess and future-proof the existing small team’s competencies.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Develop the team’s skills in Siemens and other programmable logic controllers.
  • Lead projects involving the decommissioning of old machinery and the installation of new equipment.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Significant experience as a Maintenance Engineer with both electrical and mechanical engineering experience within a food production environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical product design and fault-finding, particularly with Siemens systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, including PLC controllers.
  • Ability to program frequency inverters.
  • Experience in robotics and proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is essential; HNC or BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering is desirable.
