Join a leading UK supplier of confined space and site safety equipment as an experienced Gas Engineer specialising in Gas Detection and Location Systems to join their growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, service, repair, and calibrate gas detection and location systems.
- Act as the technical lead for your product category, ensuring compliance with legislation and manufacturer requirements.
- Review and approve calibration and service documentation.
- Investigate equipment faults, failures, and customer issues.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and customers (phone, email, onsite).
- Mentor engineers and trainees, supporting skills development.
- Conduct quality checks and contribute to process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records in Syrinx and support hire/sales order processing.
- Uphold workshop safety, housekeeping, and operational standards.
- Deputise for the Workshop Manager when required.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Strong diagnostic and problemâsolving skills.
- Experience with gas detection equipment, calibration, or electronic diagnostics.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Proven mentoring or coaching experience.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to compliance.
- A proactive, customerâfocused approach.
- Ability to work in a fastâpaced workshop environment and adapt to changing priorities.
