Bristol Grammar School is looking to appoint a School Nurse to join our supportive and talented team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to support the school’s drive to put pupil wellbeing at the heart of all that it does.

Position Details

This is a permanent, part‑time position, working term‑time, starting asap. The school Medical Centre is open from 8:30 to 4:30 pm each day and is staffed by a team of three nurses (one lead and two part‑time) who provide medical provision for staff and pupils throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of First Aid for pupils, staff, and visiting members of the public.
  • Advising staff before taking pupils on trips.
  • Regular monitoring of pupils to assess general health and detect any health problems that could affect development or learning.

Qualifications

  • A registered general nurse with prior experience working with children in a professional capacity.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to respond sensitively to children aged 4‑18 and adult staff.
