Bristol Grammar School is seeking a part-time specialist 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to start as soon as possible. The role provides assistance to a pupil with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) so they can safely participate in all areas of school life.
Learning Support will be provided on a 1:1 basis, though teachers may suggest assisting other pupils in the class if appropriate. LSAs are integral members of the Infant and Junior Staff team and play a full part in the life of the School.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 learning support to a pupil with an EHCP, helping them to access the curriculum and participate in learning activities.
- Support the pupil to experience a sense of achievement, develop independence in learning, and enjoy other aspects of school life (including extracurricular activities).
- Collaborate with teaching staff to implement strategies and ensure safe participation in all activities.
- Support inclusivity, safeguarding, and positive behaviour within the classroom and school environment.
- Experience of working with or supporting learners, preferably in an educational setting.
- Ability to work effectively on a 1:1 basis and adapt to the pupil’s needs.
