The Sponsorship Manager will be responsible for driving and managing sponsorship agreements for Bristol City Women’s FC. You will be required to generate revenue and maximise commercial income streams by developing, managing, and growing partnerships, sponsorships, and other commercial assets in line with Mercury13 ambitions.
This role will require the effective management of personal clients and agency portfolios, an understanding of storytelling and brand building underpinned by commercial assets and inventory which support the operational and business impact of each partner. You will also be responsible for delivering commercial partner agreements which are new to the Club since Mercury13’s announced takeover.
Key Responsibilities- New Business Development
- Drive local market outreach and conversations for new sponsors to the Club
- Manage key potential partner and agency relationships in pursuit of closing revenue
- Manage pipeline and CRM in line with Mercury13 Group
- Establish innovative concepts and proposals supporting new business discussions taking them from prospect to close
- Integrate commercial partners to Club needs whenever possible
- Deliver on contractual assets for select BCWFC partners
- Work closely with broader Bristol Sports Group and Ashton Gate stakeholders in support of contracted asset delivery for select partners
- Manage strategic partner roadmap and any other partner management tools for transparent KIP and delivery tracking
- Manage renewals and upsells in line with Commercial Director (Interim Club CEO) and M13 CRO
- Build strong relationship within Bristol Sports and Ashton Gate to support new partner development and existing partner management
- Support Commercial Director (interim CEO) in comms alignment across groups in pursuit of revenue targets
- Maintain clear, and consistent updates on relevant documents to keep M13 and broader teams aligned to progress
- Proven track record in sponsorship sales and/or management within sports
- Demonstrated experience in closing revenue in a sales function
- Understanding of audience growth and marketing to craft narrative based sales materials
- Strong understanding of the media and sports ecosystem within the UK, specifically within women’s football
- Excellent communication skills
