Competing in the WSL2 but pushing for promotion into WSL1, this is a pivotal role responsible for driving ticket sales, merchandise revenue, fan data capture, community engagement, and digital growth. Reporting into the CEO, the Marketing Manager will develop and deliver integrated marketing strategies that grow attendances, deepen fan relationships, and strengthen the Club’s brand locally and nationally. The role will also work closely with the Ownership Group to support the rollout of portfolio-wide marketing concepts, while ensuring these are tailored effectively to meet the Club’s local fanbase and community needs. This is a highly collaborative, delivery-focused role suited to someone who is equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute.
What you can expect to get involved in:
- Audience Growth & Revenue Generation: Lead all ticket sales campaigns and matchday promotions, with a focus on driving attendances and repeat visitation. Develop and deliver merchandise sales campaigns, working closely with retail, e-commerce, and commercial partners and central team(s). Drive fan acquisition and retention strategic execution across all channels, ensuring consistent messaging and measurable growth.
- Fan Data & CRM: Lead the rollout and optimisation of first-party fan data initiatives, derived from Mercury13 including CRM adoption, data capture at matches and events, and GDPR-compliant usage. Use insight and analytics to inform campaign planning, audience segmentation, and personalised marketing activity.
- Digital & Social Media: Oversee the Club’s social media and digital marketing strategy and execution in line with Ownership Group standards, driving audience growth, engagement, and conversion. Lead content and comms working closely with football operations to ensure authentic, compelling storytelling that reflects the Club’s identity and values.
- Community & Brand Engagement: Develop and deliver community engagement initiatives that strengthen the Club’s local presence and grow the next generation of supporters. Ensure the Club’s brand is represented consistently and positively across all touchpoints. Act as the key marketing liaison with Mercury13, supporting the rollout of portfolio-wide concepts, campaigns, and best practices. Adapt and localise central initiatives to ensure relevance and impact for the Club’s specific fanbase and market.
- Leadership & Delivery: Lead marketing planning and campaign execution end-to-end, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Work cross-functionally with commercial colleagues, football, operations, and external partners to deliver shared objectives. Manage agencies, suppliers, and freelancers as required.
