Responsibilities
- Enthuse, motivate and engage with young people, mainly aged between 16 and 18.
- Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment at GCSE English level to ensure learners achieve and make good progress from their starting points.
- Plan, mark and report student progress to parents and school partners.
- Undertake appropriate continuing personal and professional development, including engagement in education programmes.
- Contribute to the timely review of the programme, ensuring its development and growth.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience teaching GCSE English or a strong interest in teaching it.
- Comfortable and credible in building professional but supportive relationships with a range of learners.
- Ability to support learners with their academic, personal and social development.
- Creative, flexible and committed to working within a fast‑paced charity.
- Willingness to become a pivotal driver in developing our exciting Education Programme.
- Teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching the subject of English.
- Strong delivery experience with participants in various settings.
- Ability to deliver dynamic and challenging lessons that inspire students and ensure they progress at all levels.
- Ability to set high personal standards and work calmly and effectively in an environment characterised by high ambiguity and complexity.
- Clear, concise and purposeful communication skills with staff, students and partners to build effective relationships.

Contract: Fixed‑term, term‑time only – 6 hours per week (4 hours teaching, 2 hours PPA), from Friday 28th August 2026 to Friday 14th May 2027. The role may continue delivery each academic year.
