Fixed Term for 18 months, part time 19 hrs per week. Flexible working days will include some weekends as well as weekdays.
Location: Based at both Create Centre and Temple Street, working in Bristol and all over the local region.
Role: Bristol City Council operates an Active Travel and Engagement Team on behalf of the West of England Unitary Authorities, consisting of Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath & Northeast Somerset, and North Somerset. This work is part of the sustainable travel behaviour change programme integral to the West of England’s sustainable transport offer since 2011. As a Travel Advisor you will work as part of a skilled team engaging with the public and encouraging people to travel more sustainably. You will be required to work in various locations across the four authorities, actively managing the promotion of sustainable transport at workplaces, local events, schools, communities and residential settings, both indoors and out. This role will have a particular focus on the new Residents Parking Schemes and the future Workplace Parking Levy. You will report to the senior business engagement and active travel officer, engage with businesses and the community, visit local businesses on high streets, support consultation events to explain proposals, and feed back views to the project team. The role requires both in‑person outreach and desk‑based administration.
