Are you an experienced traffic engineering professional looking to make a real impact on Bristol's transport network?

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our Transport Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the development and delivery of traffic and transport projects that support safer, more sustainable and accessible travel across the city.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the delivery of traffic and transport projects and service improvements.
  • Design and implement technical solutions to develop and enhance Bristol's highway infrastructure.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues, elected members, stakeholders and members of the public.
  • Manage and coordinate project activities to ensure delivery against agreed objectives and timescales.
  • Interpret and communicate complex technical information to support decision-making and project development.
  • Contribute to service development, innovation and continuous improvement across the Transport Division.

About You

You'll have relevant qualifications or substantial experience in traffic engineering, transport planning or a related discipline, together with a sound understanding of transport legislation and practices.

You'll be confident managing projects, solving complex problems and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

You'll bring experience of delivering technical work, prioritising competing demands and working collaboratively to achieve successful outcomes.

Knowledge of TSRGD 2016 and Traffic Regulation Order procedures is essential.
