Job description
Full Time, Fixed Term to cover maternity for 12 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced leader who shares our passion for working with care experienced young adults, to lead our 16+ children in care transitions team.

Young people in our service have often come into care as older children or may present with more complex needs. The role of the team manager is to ensure there is comprehensive assessment of need and pathway planning and oversee a multi-agency plan to support the transition as the young person becomes a care leaver. Our work can be reactive and fast paced and you will need to be trauma informed and have the ability to work on your own and have the skills to challenge constructively. Most of our young people live in and around Bristol but some live further afield. We recognise the importance of the whole network in building security and safety for our young people ensuring that they understand their life story and journey into and through care. Our practice is underpinned by signs of safety and systemic practice, and we encourage workers to be reflective in their approach.

We seek to be ambitious corporate parents for our young people and the team manager role is exciting, busy, and demanding. The successful candidate will need to be organised, flexible and solution focussed to lead and inspire others. We are seeking a manager who is enthusiastic, creative, and ambitious who can work systemically to lead and develop others and the service for young people. The role includes oversight and line management of approximately seven to ten members of staff and 100 care experienced young people.

This role sits within the wider Post 16 Service supporting children in care and care leavers aged 16+. The wider teams include two dedicated to asylum seeking young people, a post 21 team and three generic care leaver teams. We are based at B Bond in an open plan office overlooking the river and Ashton Court. We have high aspirations for our children and young people and are committed to providing services to achieve the best possible outcomes.
