We're looking for an experienced senior strategic leader to help shape inclusive education across Bristol. Reporting to the Head of Service, Inclusion, you'll lead our quality assurance and practice frameworks across Inclusion and SEND and oversee SEND place-making and co-production. Working with children, families, schools and partners, you'll use evidence, data and lived experience to improve services and outcomes - particularly for children and young people with SEND or facing disadvantage.

You will play a key role in delivering Bristol's SEND and Inclusion Strategy and supporting SEND Reform, championing inclusive practice, strengthening partnership with families and settings, and ensuring children and young people can access the right support, at the right time, in the right place. You will drive system-wide improvement through co-production, quality assurance, workforce development and the effective use of data to improve outcomes and reduce barriers to participation, belonging and achievement.

About you

  • Significant leadership experience in a complex, multi-agency environment
  • Expert knowledge of SEND, safeguarding, attendance and related statutory duties
  • Experience of quality assurance, service improvement and co-production
  • Strong influencing, partnership-working and communication skills
  • Experience of driving strategic change and embedding inclusive practice across education and partner agencies
  • A proven commitment to inclusion, equity and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
