Permanent, Part Time 18.5 hours per week working the following pattern:
Wk1 Thurs 9-5, Fri 9-5
Wk2 Thurs 9-7, Fri 9-5, Sat 9-5
Wk3 Thurs 9-5, Fri 9-5
Wk4 Tue 9-7, Thurs 9-5, Fri 9-5
Bristol Libraries has an exciting opportunity for a professionally qualified Librarian to join our friendly team based in the Central Library. This is a great opportunity to work in a large public library which offers you a range of duties including stock management, frontline service and staff management.
Your role will be within our Stock Team who have citywide responsibility for a range of subjects and stock. This includes the purchasing, promotion and management of stock as well as providing high quality training and enquiry support for frontline staff.
The Central Library is an iconic building that sees approximately 1000 visitors a day, it is a complex building with seven floors, including two public floors and a historic reading room. Areas of the library are also often used for exhibitions and events. Services from Central Library include a lending library for adults and children, a reference library, research and study spaces, computer areas, a business centre, a café, and meeting and hire spaces.
The library is also the central hub for the distribution of stock and resources across the Bristol Libraries network of 26 libraries. You will work with a team of Central Library managers and librarians to provide an excellent customer experience at Central Library.
You will also manage a team of Library and Stock Assistants and support the daily management of Central Library.
Please note that this role is not suitable for home or hybrid working as it is required to be physically present in libraries.
