We are looking for a dynamic, technically competent, experienced technician for the Strategic Highways Maintenance Team. You will project manage the planning and delivery of planned highway maintenance work across the city with support from colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Project manage and deliver highway maintenance projects across Bristol.
- Execute planned maintenance activities, including road resurfacing, patching, road markings, highway drainage, winter maintenance, surface dressing, micro‑asphalt, and footway slurry seal.
- Supervise contractors and manage enquiries related to the work.
- Work independently and collaboratively, solving problems as they arise.
- Occasionally work outside normal hours to supervise work, with enhancements payable.
Qualifications & Experience
- Appropriate qualifications and/or relevant technical experience in project managing highway maintenance activities.
- Good working knowledge of Health and Safety and related legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to work alone and as part of a team.
- Previous project management experience and problem‑solving ability.
- Full, valid UK driving licence; ability to use own vehicle with mileage paid and parking provided.
