Are you passionate about building safety and eager to contribute to the safety of residents in Bristol? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Building Safety Manager to join our team at Bristol City Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the council’s statutory duties and ensure the safety of occupants in high-rise multi-occupied residential buildings.

The Role:

As the Senior Building Safety Manager, you will play a key part in ensuring Bristol City Council remains compliant with building safety regulations. Working alongside the Programme Lead for Residential Building Safety, you will manage the safety case programme, support resident meetings, collaborate with the Building Safety Regulator, and provide expert advice to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the creation of building safety cases and safety case reports.
  • Maintain information management systems to aid the Golden Thread of data.
  • Lead the Council’s submission of building safety case reports and associated documents to the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Lead the development and implementation of processes, practice and initiatives to foster a positive building safety culture.

What We’re Looking For:

To be successful in this role, you should have experience in building safety management, ideally within social housing, and suitable qualifications. You’ll need strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and experience liaising with residents.

  • Technical qualification with membership to professional bodies.
  • Experience within property compliance in a housing context.
  • Knowledge of building safety and fire safety regulations.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Experience of undertaking a Building Safety Manager role previously.
