Bristol City Council’s Housing & Landlord Services are currently recruiting Roofing Operatives to join our Responsive Repairs team. The Response Repairs Team focuses on delivering high quality, cost effective responsive repairs to a large variety of properties amongst our 28000 homes.


We are seeking to employ enthusiastic and motivated roofers to join our response roofing team. Within this role you will inspect, install, maintain, and repair all types of roofing systems throughout our housing stock. The role also includes installation, maintenance and repair of fascia, soffits, and rainwater systems.


This role requires a good understanding of building pathology, especially when related to roofing hazards, defects, and their causes. You should be methodical and enquiring. The role requires commitment, accountability, and a can-do attitude, where going the extra mile is normal practise. We are always looking for continuous improvement in our delivery of this essential service, working within dedicated timelines and budgets. The role is varied, fast paced, challenging, rewarding and delivers job and customer satisfaction.


You will hold a trade qualification in a relevant field, plus a further period of relevant practical experience or equivalent knowledge and skill demonstrated from significant and relevant experience in roofing or similar construction related environment and extensive professional trade experience in pitched and flat roofing systems.


You will also hold a full driving licence. The post requires a moderate level of fluency. You must have the ability to converse with citizens and provide complex information in accurate spoken English, or through a BSL interpreter.
