About The Role
The Revenues and Benefits Service has a vital role in the billing and collection of Council Tax, Business Rates and the Valuation function within the local authority. We are looking for a Revenues Officer to join our Valuation and Inspection team within the Revenues and Benefits Service.
- Monitor and administer new property developments, from planning records and other sources for inclusion into the rating and council tax lists held by the Valuation Office Agency.
- When domestic and commercial developments are built, bring the new properties into the local tax revenues records, update customer records and process them in accordance with legislation to ensure prompt billing and collection of local taxes.
- Communicate effectively with members of the public and businesses.
- Work as part of a team in a busy, performance‑driven environment, accurately processing high volumes of work to deadlines. Demonstrate excellent organisational, numerical and literacy skills.
- Full training and support will be provided if you do not already have detailed knowledge of local tax administration.
