We have a number of exciting opportunities within the Council’s Operational Property Team. So if you are interested in pursuing or developing a career in property and working towards or have already attained a relevant Property qualification we would be pleased to hear from you.
Roles range from providing support to one of 5 Property Partners in the management of the Council’s operational property estate to leading a Service specific Property Partnering function. Roles also involve the delivery of property related solutions to requirements identified in Asset Management Plans.
What will I be doing?
You will be one of 5 Property Partners within the Asset Strategy Team whose purpose is to form a strategic link between Property and Lead Officers representing Services using Council assets for service delivery.
You will adopt a lead role in advising on all aspects of property asset management in order to maximise property performance through rationalisation and cost reduction while facilitating / maintaining service delivery in the most cost effective manner.
You will work alongside the Asset Strategy Manager and with strategic service leads to develop service asset management plans ensuring that requirements and solutions for property assets and services are considered in a corporate context by translating strategic objectives into property solutions.
What do I need to have?
You will have a property related qualification and experience of providing pro – active property estate management in a large organisation.
An excellent negotiator, problem solver and advocate, you will demonstrate an ability to deliver clear professional advice to a wide range of service disciplines and to negotiate, monitor and complete property transactions.
You will also be a good listener with capability to clearly articulate service needs and to convert that thinking and planning into effective delivery action.
In addition you will be able to develop and maintain service relationships whilst also recognising the need for asset review and challenge.
You should be prepared to demonstrate evidence of applying innovative and analytical approaches to solving complex and challenging problems.
You will be able to understand the wider needs of the business and the operation of the regional economy and property market including an appreciation of the opportunities which can be derived from developing and maintaining relationships with other public sector property occupiers.
