Part Time, 18.5 hours per week – Fixed Term (12 months). The local authority has a statutory duty to ensure the safety of children who are destitute and at risk of street homelessness. The No Recourse to Public Funds team assess families and provide emergency accommodation if needed for people with uncertain immigration status.
The No Recourse to Public Funds Team is a group of social workers and support staff that undertake assessments. The Triage and Homelessness Officer is an 18.5 hour a week part-time position that will provide the initial assessment for families in need, including gathering evidence of homelessness and destitution. The role will also work closely with Homelessness Prevention professionals.
Applicants must demonstrate good communication skills to undertake effective assessments and an ability to understand and apply changes in legislation and procedures. This role is office based and not open to hybrid working. Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
