Bristol is a vibrant city, with nearly 30% of Bristol's population living in the private rented sector. The City Council's Private Housing Service sets out to maintain and improve housing conditions in this sector. The service is responsible for privately owned and rented properties including the licensing of rented properties. The service has expanded its licensing functions following approval of two new schemes in 2024: a city-wide additional licensing scheme and a selective licensing scheme in 3 wards of the city.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to lead a team of Senior/Housing Officers within our Private Housing Licence Processing & Advice and Support Unit. Would you like to work in one of the largest Private Housing Services in the country, and contribute to improving the city's private rented sector housing standards?
We are looking for someone who can motivate a team with a positive attitude and passion to ensure great customer service and service delivery. You will be managing and supervising a small team of front-line officers to lead on an area of the service’s property licence application processing, and providing guidance and support to the team, along with associated work.
Please note that interviews are expected to be held on 10 December 2026.
