What will I be doing?
You will use your health experience and skills to join a small friendly team responsible for assessing the health and housing needs of applicants seeking social housing in Bristol, either due to Homelessness or via our Home Choice Bristol service.
Social Housing is in high demand and in limited supply. This is a diverse and challenging role with competing demands, and requires good understanding of Health, Social Care and Housing services and legislation. You\’ll be tasked with finding housing solutions for those with the highest health, mobility and complex support needs. You\’ll require strong analytical skills and the ability to identify those in the greatest need, working in partnership with both internal and external teams and services to seek creative solutions.
The work is largely office-based health and housing assessments with some home visiting. It includes follow up and liaison with other health professionals, services and agencies in both determining housing need, priority, and other solutions to complex cases.
What do I need to have?
You should have a recognised health qualification (e.g. Registered nurse, Occupational Therapist) or equivalent relevant experience and experience in a range of settings. You\’ll be accessing information electronically and therefore it\’s essential that you\’re IT literate.
Although largely office based and with home working, you should also have the ability and willingness to travel to any location within the city boundary (Pool Cars available) if required.
