Overview

Full Time, Fixed Term for 24 months – Bristol City Council invites applications for the Commercial Procurement & Governance Apprentice role. These roles sit within our dynamic Procurement & Contract Management team, delivering value for money, compliance, and strong supplier relationships across the Council. The apprenticeships will follow the Level 4 Commercial Procurement and Supply standard, offering structured development, professional qualifications, and hands-on experience in a fast-paced public sector environment.

What will I be doing?

The Council buys a wide range of goods, services and building works to help us deliver services to the people of Bristol. The Procurement & Contract Management Service ensures value for money and high quality service from our suppliers when we place and manage contracts. There are two apprenticeship opportunities within the service, in Supplier Relations and in Governance and Performance. You will have the opportunity to work within different areas of the service to gain the experience needed to achieve the CIPS Level 4 procurement qualification. What do I need to have?

We are looking for someone who is helpful, self-motivated and willing to learn. You will need good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide complex information accurately. We are looking for people with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (or equivalent) and a willingness to learn new applications with support. You also need to demonstrate understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion.

To apply for this Level 4 apprenticeship, you must be aged 16 or over and already hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
