Fixed Term for 18 months, Part time 19 hrs per week. The days you may be working are flexible and will include some weekends as well as weekdays.

Location: Based at both Create Centre and Temple Street, working in Bristol and out about all over the local region.

A Bristol City Council operates an Active Travel and Engagement Team on behalf of the West of England Unitary Authorities (UAs) made up of Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath and Northeast Somerset, and North Somerset. This work is part of the sustainable travel behaviour change programme which has been integral to the West of England’s sustainable transport offer since 2011.

As a Travel Advisor you will work as part of a skilled team engaging with the public and encouraging people to travel more sustainably. You will be required to work in various locations across the four authorities, actively managing the promotion of sustainable transport at workplaces, local events, schools, in communities and in residential settings, both indoors and out.

This role will have a particular focus on the new Residents Parking Schemes in the city and in the future Workplace Parking Levy. This will involve reporting to the senior business engagement and active travel officer to engage with businesses and the community. In particular this will entail visiting local businesses on high streets and supporting at consultation events to explain proposals and feed back views to the project team. This will require both in-person outreach and desk-based administration and tasks.
