The local authority has a statutory duty to ensure the safety of children who are destitute and at risk of street homelessness. The No Recourse to Public Funds team assess families and provide emergency accommodation if needed for people with uncertain immigration status. The No Recourse to Public Funds Team are a team of social workers and support staff to undertake assessments.
The Key Worker is a full time position and will undertake a range of statutory duties in accordance with relevant legislation in relation to children and their families, including empowering families to take actions identified in their support plans. You will need experience of working with children and young people in a related profession, for example education, welfare or youth and community work, and an ability to analyse family requirements so that the most appropriate service is provided.
Note: This role requires an Enhanced DBS Check.
For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment. For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to. If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
