We are seeking a Shared Lives Officer to work 18.5 hours a week due to the existing full‑time post‑holder commencing flexible retirement. You will need to be willing to work the latter part of the week with some flexibility on hours per day. Bristol Shared Lives is a City Wide service recruiting, assessing, supporting and monitoring self‑employed Shared Lives Carers who provide care and support in their own home. Carers offer short breaks/Respite, Day Support or Long Term placements to vulnerable adults who have been assessed as eligible by Adult Social Care.
You will work as part of a small team recruiting and assessing prospective carers and providing Support and Monitoring to existing carers and their placements.
The role is flexible and varied and we require someone with strong communication and organisational skills who is able to work independently as well as being part of a friendly team. Experience of working with vulnerable adults in a range of services alongside other professionals and a commitment to providing person‑centred support is required. Supervisory experience is desirable but not essential. Please note that you will need to hold a full driving licence with access to your own transport to travel across Bristol as required.
