The Bristol City Council Housing & Landlord Services are recruiting a Plumbing Trade Supervisor to lead a team of gas and plumbing operatives, surveyors and contractors in providing responsive repairs in council‑owned dwellings. The role includes overseeing all drainage works, ensuring high quality service, achieving customer satisfaction, and maintaining budgetary targets across our portfolio of 28,000 homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop a team of gas and plumbing operatives, surveyors, and contractors.
- Lead all drainage works and ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Maintain day‑to‑day management, training and development of staff under the direction of the Responsive Repairs Trade Manager.
- Deliver responsive repairs ‘right the first time’, keeping within agreed budgets and high customer satisfaction.
- Provide accurate spoken English to citizens; or work through a BSL interpreter where required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant ACS Gas qualification and Plumbing NVQ Level 2 or 3.
- Extensive professional trade experience in plumbing & drainage.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Moderate level of fluency in spoken English.
Desirable Skills
- Experience managing teams within a responsive repairs or maintenance environment.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
