Responsibilities:
- You will be working outdoors in parks and open spaces and within our housing sites across the City.
- As part of the team, you will help ensure clean and tidy parks that are well managed, which is one of Bristol residents' key concerns.
- You will also ensure parks contribute to the wellbeing of every resident and visitor to the City.
- You will have a highly important and visual role in making sure our parks and green spaces are welcoming and attractive places to visit.
- You could be ensuring that parks are cleared of litter and that bins are regularly emptied and maintained.
- Or you may be part of teams working on horticultural tasks such as grass cutting and shrub pruning.
Requirements:
- A driving licence is essential to deliver the service efficiently across the city.
- Weekend working is required; this will be on a rota and will involve two weekends a month on average.
- Uniform, safety equipment and training will be provided.
- Flexible approach to work, ability to meet the physical demands of the role and strong customer focus.
- Prepared to work both in a small team and on your own at different times.
- The post may operate across a range of sites throughout the city in all weathers.
Terms:
- For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.
- For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
- If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
